Vidya Daan

Among all forms of charity, ISKCON Bhiwandi holds Vidya Daan, the donation of knowledge in a place of special reverence. While food nourishes the body for a day, spiritual knowledge has the power to awaken the soul for a lifetime. Vidya Daan is Maha Daan. Srila Prabhupada dedicated his life to spreading Krishna consciousness through the written word, believing that placing transcendental knowledge into even one sincere heart could change the course of that person's life, and the lives of everyone they touch. The Vedic tradition places great value on sharing spiritual knowledge. A material gift may help someone for a day, but spiritual knowledge can stay with a person for much longer. A book such as the Bhagavad Gita can introduce someone to Krishna's teachings and give them something they can return to throughout their spiritual journey. Every copy of the Bhagavad Gita sponsored through Vidya Daan may reach a student searching for purpose, a soul in crisis, or someone who has simply never been given the chance to hear Krishna's name. Please take this opportunity to support Vidya Daan at ISKCON Bhiwandi and help place the light of spiritual knowledge in the hands of those who need it most.
